Visiting this website
Our hosting provider, OpenAI Ireland Ltd, and its service providers process technical information needed to deliver and protect this website. This can include your IP address, time of access, browser and device information, requested pages and server logs. We use this processing to make the site available and secure, based on our legitimate interest under Article 6(1)(f) GDPR. The hosting provider handles technical logs according to its retention practices. Its providers may process data outside the European Economic Area with applicable safeguards, including adequacy decisions or standard contractual clauses.
We do not use analytics or advertising trackers, and no podcast player or Google form is embedded on these pages. If you switch the colour theme, your browser saves that preference locally so the site can remember your choice. This preference is not sent to us as a tracking cookie.
If you write to info@cross.center, we use your message and address to reply and manage the conversation. Our email hosting and forwarding services process these messages on our behalf, including forwarding to a Google mailbox. The legal basis is Article 6(1)(f) GDPR for correspondence, or Article 6(1)(b) where your message concerns steps toward an agreement. We keep messages as long as needed for the conversation and any applicable legal obligations.
Dream submissions and external links
The “Submit a dream” link takes you to a Google Form on a separate site. Google processes data when you open that form under its own terms. The form presents the submission license and consent terms before you submit. If you share a dream, Jakob Lusensky and Cécile Buckenmeyer use the information you provide to receive and review it, hold it as part of the dream archive, and consider it for Was it just a dream? The form terms also describe curated publication and cultural, educational and research uses. A selected dream may be presented on the podcast without a further permission request. We do not promise to include every dream. We omit names in public presentation, but details could still make a person recognisable. Please do not include identifying details about others; analysts or psychotherapists must obtain a patient’s explicit consent before sharing that patient’s dream.
Dreams may reveal sensitive personal information, including health, religion or sexuality. Please avoid sensitive information about identifiable third parties. We process voluntary submissions on the basis of consent under Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Where your submission includes special categories of your personal data, explicit consent under Article 9(2)(a) GDPR is required. You can withdraw consent by emailing us. Withdrawal does not affect earlier lawful processing; we will stop future public use where possible and assess deletion of personal data in line with your rights. The submission terms describe how archival copies may be treated. We retain submissions for the purposes described in the form, subject to withdrawal, deletion requests and applicable obligations. External podcast, Substack and publisher links take you to services with their own privacy notices.
Your rights
You can request access, correction, deletion, restriction or portability of your personal data, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you can withdraw it at any time. To exercise these rights, email info@cross.center. You may also complain to a data protection authority, including the Berlin Commissioner for Data Protection and Freedom of Information.
